A semi-truck driver who struck a Saskatoon overpass Friday afternoon has received tickets from both Saskatoon police and the Saskatchewan Highway Patrol. It was the fifth time this year a Saskatoon overpass was been struck by an oversized vehicle. The Saskatoon Police Service says the driver was issued a ticket for Driving without Due Care and Attention. Three additional tickets were issued by the Saskatoon Highway Patrol - failing to complete a pre-trip inspection, over height, and failing to clear a structure. The collision took place at Idylwyld Drive and 51st Street, after a semi-truck towing a trailer and grain bin hit the overpass. It happened in the southbound lane when the bin struck the overpass and was dislodged from the trailer. The bin was wedged, blocking the merge lane westbound from 51st Street.
