Prince Albert police investigating death of 3‑year‑old boy

Prince Albert police are investigating the death of a 3‑year‑old boy after officers were called to a home in the city on Tuesday.

Officers were dispatched to a residence in the 900 block of 2nd Street East just before 7 p.m. on March 3 for a report of a child who was not conscious and not breathing, Prince Albert Police Service (PAPS) said in a news release.

The boy was taken to Victoria Hospital by Parkland Ambulance, where he later died.

PAPS Major Crimes Unit and the Forensic Identification Section are leading the investigation along with the Office of the Chief Coroner.

Police say an autopsy was completed on Wednesday and further updates will be provided as the investigation continues.
