A 26-year-old man has been arrested after a 70-year-old woman was stabbed in downtown Saskatoon earlier this week. Saskatoon police say they were called to the intersection of 5th Avenue North and 24th Street East at around 2:15 p.m. on July 6. The victim said she was stabbed by someone she didn’t know who tried to take her bag. She was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Police arrested the suspect the next day in the area of 4th Avenue North between 23rd and 24th Street. He has been charged with aggravated assault and robbery.
