A 36-year-old man is facing several charges including impaired driving after police say he drove his vehicle into a building. Officers were called to a parking lot in the 3900 block of 8th Street East at about 5:30 p.m. on July 30 after receiving a report of a possible impaired driver. Saskatoon police say the driver accelerated and crashed into a building when officers arrived and approached the vehicle. Photos shared with CTV News show an SUV lodged in the front entrance of a commercial building. The images show significant damage to the storefront, including shattered glass and a damaged door and window frame. The SUV also appears to have sustained damage, with a broken side mirror and damage to the front end. Police say after officers arrested the man, they observed signs of impairment and he refused to comply with a breath demand. The 36-year-old is charged with impaired driving, refusal to comply with a demand, driving while prohibited and breach of court-imposed conditions.
