Highway 11 traffic restrictions extended for overpass repairs

Traffic restrictions on Highway 11 northbound beneath the Circle Drive overpass will remain in place longer as repair work continues.

The City of Saskatoon says the project is now expected to be completed by April 24, weather permitting and depending on site conditions.

Northbound traffic on Highway 11 remains reduced to a single lane after the overpass sustained significant damage when it was struck by a semi.

On March 5, a semi hauling heavy equipment hit the overpass at the Circle Drive, Highway 11 and Highway 16 cloverleaf in the city’s southeast end.

Highway 16 eastbound traffic is also reduced to one lane until repairs are complete, though all ramps on the Circle Drive overpass remain open.

Drivers are being asked to follow posted speed limits when possible to help keep traffic moving through the area.

The City initially said repairs would begin March 17 and take about four weeks to complete.
