Those flying into Regina on Thursday were met with a party at the Regina International Airport (YQR). Hosted by the Good Morning Project, a Good Morning Airport Welcome Party featured coffee, a live DJ, and good vibes. “Whether someone is touching down in Regina for the first time or coming home, we’re making sure they’re greeted with the energy and community spirit that makes our city special,” read a social media post from the Good Morning Project. The organization asked people to wear yellow, bring the energy, and help give Regina’s arrivals a good morning. Meanwhile, the City of Regina unveiled its new merchandise collection at the Tourism Regina Kiosk in the airport, serving Regina-style pizza to celebrate. Meant to celebrate Regina’s authentic character, the new collection features a classic line with the I Love Regina logo, a signature line with Regina’s skyline, a heritage line with historical landmarks, a Tourism Regina with local attractions, and a feature-edition design with Regina-style pizza. “These collections tell the story of our community and celebrate the places, the traditions and even the flavours that make it special,” Jennifer Johnson, deputy city manager of communications said. The new merchandise includes T-shirts, hats, water bottles, pins, stickers, a puzzle, and other items, which will be available for purchase at YQR and at city hall visitor information kiosks. “The tourism kiosk is an amazing welcome to Regina for travellers arriving at the airport, offering an immediate sense of the city’s warmth, creativity and pride of place,” James Bogusz, president and CEO at the Regina Airport Authority said. “We love that it showcases authentic local merchandise that reflects Regina’s character and gives visitors a meaningful way to take a piece of our community with them.” Residents can also purchase some items on the I Love Regina website.
