The latest round of loss reports from the Government of Saskatchewan show that SaskPower and the Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) lost a combined $6,000 through various incidents. Two SaskPower employees were ultimately terminated. The first SaskPower employee used a corporate procurement and fuel card for personal purchases totalling $2,216.94. The second SaskPower employee used a procurement card to purchase fuel for trips for which they also submitted mileage expense claims totalling $1,114.83. A third SaskPower employee took time off from work but did not submit requests through the office’s scheduling system, resulting in absence balances such as vacation and sick leave not being adjusted resulting in a loss of $803.51. While the incident is still under review, SaskPower has adjusted the employees’ existing time-off balances, recouping most of the amount owing and plans to recover the remaining balance. There was one reportable loss by the SHA to the Ministry of Health in the second quarter of the 2025-26 fiscal year (from July 1 to September 30, 2025). An SHA employee claimed wages for work shifts and mileage that was not earned, resulting in a total loss of $2,022. The employee was issued a 30-day suspension and is repaying the amounts owed. As a corrective action, the employee is no longer being sent to offsite locations on a regular basis. The Ministry of Health reports losses by the SHA, Athabasca Health Authority (AHA), Saskatchewan Cancer Agency (SCA), Health Shared Services Saskatchewan (3sHealth), Health Quality Council (HQC) and Saskatchewan Association of Health Organizations (SAHO) in keeping with similar reporting of losses within ministries and Crown agencies.
