Tailgating is now allowed at Saskatchewan Roughriders games, following changes to provincial legislation. “The Tailgating Act” received royal assent in the legislature Thursday, meaning the law will officially take effect once related regulatory changes are finalized. Fans can expect tailgating to be permitted at Mosaic Stadium in time for the Green and White’s home opener this season, slated for Saturday, June 13. “The Riders have been very active in promoting the tailgating activity and we’re so looking forward to gameday and seeing how creative our Rider fans are going to be in supporting that,” said Warren Kaeding, Minister responsible for the Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming Authority. Earlier this month, the Riders held a lottery for season ticket holders to secure tailgating passes, priced at $500 for the season. Fans with passes will be allowed to bring their own alcohol and prepare food within designated areas near the stadium, which will also be open to the public.
