The Roughriders have made their picks for the 2026 Plaza of Honour, fêting two that hoisted the Grey Cup in 2013 and a placekicker with a knack for the Hail Mary — Rob Bagg, Dan Clark and Paul McCallum. The Green and White says this is the second year in a row that all three players who made the list are Canadian. Last year, the honour went to two former players, Chris Best and the late Steve Molnar, and long-time assistant coach Alex Smith. According to a news release from the team, Bagg took a meandering path to the Plaza. He found his way to the Riders as a rookie out of Queen’s University in 2007, after initially signing as an undrafted free agent. It didn’t last, he opted to go back to college for another year, returning to the team in 2009, recording his first of four CFL seasons with over 50 receptions. Bagg is 24th on the Roughriders all-time list with 27 career touchdowns. Along with Bagg, Clark was on the squad in 2013 when the team hoisted the Grey Cup in victory for the fourth time ever. That same year, Clark registered his first of two career touchdown receptions. His high-level play secured him the spot as starting centre beginning in 2015 until the 2022 season. Clark was named All-CFL centre in 2019, when he helped the Riders finish first in the west with a 13-5 record. McCallum doesn’t have a championship under his belt but his league-record 63-yard field goal in 2001 showed Saskatchewan fans he knew how to work the clutch. The placekicker played a remarkable 24 CFL seasons, spending nearly 13 years with Saskatchewan. McCallum loved a long shot. His 2001 field goal record was just one of 29 field goals over 50 yards that he made while wearing Green and White. “He is second in franchise history in points (1,615) and field goals (368) and first in punts (1,116) and punting yardage (45,670),” the team said Monday. The three men will bring the Plaza’s membership to 146. The honourees will be enshrined into the Plaza of Honour during a halftime celebration on October 17, versus the Montreal Alouettes. Tickets for the Legends Game go on sale May 1.
