A 27-year-old Regina man is facing multiple charges after a reported weapons incident in the city’s downtown area. Officers, along with the Canine Unit and Downtown Safety Team, were called to the area of Victoria Avenue and Scarth Street just before midnight in response to a man reportedly walking around with a knife. At arrival, officers say they located a man who matched the suspect description. Police say the man initially resisted arrest but was taken into custody without further incident. Police say they found a blade and handle from a pair of scissors on him. He is being charged with possession of a weapon, failure to comply with condition of an undertaking and failure to comply with a probation order. He’s set to make first court appearance in Regina Provincial Court on Aug. 24
