A 47-year-old Regina man is facing several firearm-related charges after police responded to reports of a man allegedly waving a handgun at a busy city intersection. Officers were called to the intersection of Victoria Avenue and Broad Street at approximately 5:45 a.m. on May 29, 2026, following reports of a male displaying a firearm. Police arrived within minutes and located the suspect and took him into custody without incident. A search conducted following the arrest allegedly uncovered a 9mm handgun tucked into the suspect’s waistband. As a result of the investigation, the 47-year-old has been charged with carrying a concealed weapon, pointing a firearm, careless use of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition and possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized. He made his first appearance on the charges in Regina Provincial Court the same day.
