A few restaurants are open this Thanksgiving Monday, serving turkey lunches and dinners to families in Regina. Roots Kitchen & Bar, located in the city’s Harbour Landing neighbourhood, served around 450 turkey dinners this weekend. “We stay open to serve our regular customers and new customers. We want to make sure everyone’s happy and excited for the holiday seasons,” said Chris Miller, executive chef and culinary director. “… it brings families and family of the residents together here at Harbour Landing Village and Roots Kitchen & Bar.” Miller added the restaurant gets quite busy for major holidays like Thanksgiving and Christmas. “We’re just thankful for all the staff that we have working today and just thankful that we have our customers coming and supporting us,” he said. Western Pizza South Albert was also serving turkey dinners during the holiday. “Ever since Covid we started doing turkeys for Thanksgiving, Christmas and all that and it’s turned out very well,” said Mike Maroudis, Western’s manager. Maroudis said the business takes prides in serving families around this time of the year. “It’s great serving family, friends. We’re thankful for our customers and they support us every year,” said Maroudis. “It’s a day of thanks and family. Be with your families and cherish every moment you have with your families.” Nicky’s Café was also open and sold out on bookings towards its Thanksgiving buffet.
