Innovation Saskatchewan is investing almost $460,000 into University of Regina (U of R) research projects. Three projects will be receiving funding: The money, through the Innovation and Science Fund, will help provide the projects with specialized lab tools, field equipment, and enhanced computing power. “Biology is evolving and we have to keep fighting and keep evolving and keep trying new things all the time. So, it’s an ongoing process. We’ve seen some success and we need to do more to address this crisis,” said Omar El-Halfawy, associate professor of Biochemistry at the U of R. The dollar amount matches funding from the Canada Foundation for Innovation and John R. Evans Leaders Fund.
