Frost advisory issued for parts of southern and central Sask.

WATCH: Heading into the weekend, frost advisories are in place for southern Sask. and central parts of the province. Sabeen Ahmad has your forecast.

A frost advisory has been issued for southern and central parts of Saskatchewan, including Regina and Saskatoon, on Friday.

According to Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) patchy frost is expected to develop across parts of the province Friday night and into Saturday morning.

The weather agency advises people to cover up plants in frost-prone areas and take preventative measures to protect frost-sensitive plants and trees, as frost has the potential to cause damage.

The full southern half and a large area of the west-central part of the province is under the frost advisory as of 3:45 p.m.
