An Avonlea woman won $896,889.70 jackpot on a Vault Breaker VLT on Nov. 22. Sara Hodgson won the grand jackpot at the Blue Hills Motor Inn in Avonlea. A surprised Hodgson initially had to celebrate her victory by herself. “I was surprised and there was no one around me – I was talking to myself,” she said, according to the Western Canadian Lottery Corporation (WCLC). She does have plans for her winnings. “I’m going to pay off my house and help my elderly parents. I’ll take a vacation with some family and friends, too,” said Hodgson. “I’m also going to retire early. This is great – life changing!” Vault Breaker links 4,200 VLTs at about 560 sites in 270 communities across Saskatchewan with mystery jackpot tiers that can be awarded to players. Since June 2017, the jackpot has awarded $57,803,562.01 to 58 winners. The Vault Breakers jackpot has now been reset to $500,00.
