A woman was transported to hospital with serious injuries after being assaulted in Ottawa’s ByWard Market. Emergency crews responded to a call for an assault in the 100 block of Clarence Street, near Cumberland Street, at approximately 9:15 p.m. Thursday. An Ottawa Paramedic Service spokesperson tells CTV News Ottawa a woman was found with injuries caused by an assault. The victim was transported to hospital in serious but stable condition. This is the latest incident in the ByWard Market. On Tuesday evening, police and paramedics responded to a call for a woman who had been assaulted at the intersection of George and Cumberland streets. A 36-year-old Gatineau man was charged with assault causing bodily harm, possession of a dangerous weapon and breach of conditions. On Saturday, emergency crews found a man suffering from a laceration to his face in the area of George and Cumberland streets, and on Sunday, a man was treated for a serious head injury after an assault.
