Three teens from Ottawa charged with armed robbery in Gatineau

Three people from Ottawa are facing charges in connection with a pair of robberies in Gatineau Monday evening.

According to Gatineau police, an individual who was attempting to sell something via Facebook Marketplace met a potential buyer on boulevard des Grives at around 7:30 p.m., but was confronted by two men, one of them armed with a possible firearm.

The suspects took the victim’s cellphone and left.

At 8:50 p.m., a second call for a robbery came in from the area of rue Richer in the Hull sector. Police said the suspect descriptions led them to believe the people involved in the incident on boulevard des Grives were the same people involved on rue Richer.

Police stopped a vehicle and arrested three people — two 19-year-olds and a 15-year-old, all from Ottawa.

The two 19-year-old men are charged with armed robbery, possession of an imitation firearm, armed assault, and carrying a concealed weapon.

The 15-year-old is charged with armed robbery.

The accused remain in custody and are scheduled to appear in court Tuesday, police said.
