The intersection of Hunt Club Road and Riverside Drive continues to be the most dangerous intersection for collisions in Ottawa, according to new data. The Ottawa Police Service released information on the worst intersections for collisions in the January-March period as part of the kick-off for National Road Safety Week. There were 5,713 collisions reported across the city in the first three months of 2025. Statistics show there were 27 collisions at the intersection of Hunt Club Road and Riverside Drive in the first three months of the year. The corner of Hunt Club Road and Riverside Drive was the worst intersection for collisions in 2024, with 96 collisions between January and December. The intersection of Innes Road and Tenth Line Road saw 21 collisions in the first three months of the year, while there were 20 collisions at both the intersections of Fallowfield Road and Woodroffe Avenue and Baseline Road and Woodroffe Avenue. Police say there were 1,182 collisions in January, February and March where one of the drivers failed to remain at the scene. “We wish to remind the public: if you get in a motor vehicle accident, you must stay on scene and exchange information with the other driver,” police said. Ottawa police say officers will be conducting “targeted enforcement” at the city’s busiest intersections this week as part of National Road Safety Week. The theme for this year’s national campaign aimed at making roads safer is “Every Road, Every Day, Every One.” “This year’s theme is a call to action for all road users: drivers, passengers, cyclists and pedestrians, to help reduce injuries and save lives on our streets,” the Ottawa Police Service said in a media release. National Road Safety Week will see officers focusing on speeding and aggressive driving, distracted driving, impaired driving and seatbelt use.
