Police say a 76-year-old woman died after being struck by a vehicle in Gatineau on Friday evening. Gatineau police Lt. Caroline Paul says the collision happened on boulevard Fournier near rue Bériault at approximately 7 p.m. Paramedics attempted to resuscitate the victim on scene, but she later died in hospital. Paul says the woman did not cross the road at a light or crosswalk. Speed and alcohol was not a factor in the incident. The driver will not face charges. An investigation into the crash continues.
