Rain warning ends for Ottawa with cloudy Thursday ahead

A rain warning for Ottawa ended early Thursday morning after a downpour on Wednesday.

Ottawa saw 16.6 millimetres of rain at the airport Wednesday, the first showers in more than a week, with another 4.5 mm of rain Thursday morning.

So far this month, more than 107 mm of rain has fallen on the city.

An open-air fire ban that was issued this week has been lifted by Ottawa Fire Services. Flood warnings remain in effect along the Lower Ottawa River.

The weather forecast for Ottawa for Thursday calls for a cloudy day with a high of 11 C.

Clouds should clear in the evening. Overnight, expect a low of -2 C.

Friday’s forecast is partly sunny with a small chance of showers in the afternoon and a high of 11 C.

Saturday could also see a mix of sun and clouds and a 30 per cent chance of showers with a high of 11 C.

Sunday’s outlook is partly sunny with a high of 12 C.
