Police in Brockville, Ont., narrow area of interest in request for video footage following triple homicide

The Brockville Police Service is narrowing its focus as it searches for additional information related to last week’s triple homicide.

The bodies of three people were found in a home on Cartier Court at approximately 11:30 a.m. on Thursday. Police identified the victims as a 49-year-old mother and her two daughters, aged 15 and 17.

A 17-year-old, who cannot be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, is in custody on three counts of first-degree murder. Police said the accused was in a relationship with one of the victims.

On Monday, police appealed to residents for video footage taken in the northwestern part of the city between Wednesday, May 6 at 10 p.m. and Thursday, May 7 at 2 p.m.

On Tuesday night, police narrowed the area of focus to the Loyalist Park neighbourhood, bordered by Centennial Road in the north, Millwood Avenue in the east, Highway 401 in the south and County Road 29 in the west.

Police say they’re looking for footage from trail or wildlife cameras, doorbell cameras, security cameras, and dashboard cameras, again from the period of Wednesday, May 6 at 10 p.m. to Thursday, May 7 at 2 p.m.

In particular, police want footage of a person matching the following description: approximately six feet (182 cm) tall, approximately 280 pounds (127 kg), with a heavy-set build and brown hair. The subject might have been wearing dark clothing.

“Footage that may appear insignificant, or captured outside the identified area, may still be of investigative value,” police said. “To protect the integrity of the investigation, it is requested that all footage and information be provided directly to police and not shared on social media.”
