Ottawa Redblacks sell game worn gear and discounted merch at annual locker room sale

Fans had a chance to meet stars and get their hands on memorabilia at this year’s Ottawa Redblacks locker room sale. CTV’s Josh Marano has the story.

The Ottawa RedBlacks invited fans to TD Place one last time this season, this time for their annual locker room sale on Sunday.

Fans had access to the locker room where they could purchase discounted game worn gear and merchandise from the season, with players in attendance.

“This is the one time of the year where the fans can come on in and be right in the change room and meet some of the players and obviously get access to some of the game worn stuff. So, it’s a cool day,” Ottawa Redblack president Adrian Sciarra told CTV News.

Newly appointed head coach Ryan Dinwiddie had the chance to get acquainted with fans when he made a special appearance at the QB Club in Otto’s Club.

“They’re are supportive of us. Obviously, they’re disappointed with how last year was as well as we are, but I also think they can see the light at the end of the tunnel that we’re going to turn this thing around,” he said.

The sale began at 12 p.m. for season-seat members and 1 p.m. for the remainder of the public.

For offensive lineman Drew Desjarlais, the event provided a rare opportunity to interact with fans.

 “It’s cool to see everyone come into our house and really get to experience a locker room,” Desjarlais said.

“It’s cool to chat with people and get their feeling on the season and whatever it is they want to talk about.”

Linebacker Frankie Griffin echoed Desjarlais’s sentiments.

“It really shows that we got a lot of tradition out here and people really love to come out here and support us,” Griffin said.

Every item purchased came with two complimentary tickets to the Ottawa 67’s game against the North Bay Battalion at TD Place Arena at 3 p.m.
