The Ottawa Redblacks fired their defensive coordinator on Friday after the team extended their winless streak. “Today we relieved Will Fields of his coaching duties,” Ryan Dinwiddie, the head coach and general manager of the team, said in a news release. “These decisions are always difficult. Will is a quality coach and an even better person and we want to thank him for his contributions to the Redblacks organization over the past two seasons. We wish him all the best.” On Friday, Ottawa lost a 34-13 match against the Montreal Alouettes at home. The team continues to sit at the bottom of the league with a 0-7 record. Jeff Reinebold, who was serving as the team’s special teams coordinator, will now assume the role of defensive coordinator. Nate Taylor will step in as special teams coordinator.
