Ottawa police are asking the public to help identify a suspect involved in a bank robbery that took place on Montreal Road on Tuesday. In a news release, the Ottawa Police Service said the suspect entered the bank, located near the intersection of Montreal Road and St. Laurent Boulevard, around 11:20 a.m. Police say the suspect approached the bank teller and demanded cash. Workers complied and gave the suspect an undisclosed sum of money, and then he left. Police say the suspect is described as an approximately 40-year-old white man with a tanned complexion, grey hair, a light-coloured beard and a pointed nose. He was wearing black sunglasses, a black Ottawa Redblacks baseball cap, a light green-blue T-shirt, a jacket and black jeans. Those with information relating to the suspect’s identity or the bank robbery are asked to call Ottawa police at 613-236-1222, extension 5116.
