Ottawa police seeking suspect who discharged ‘noxious substance’ during theft

The Ottawa police are looking to identify a suspect who released a noxious substance during a commercial robbery in Westboro on Jan. 14.

According to a statement from police, the incident happened at 3:30 p.m. in a business on Kirkwood Avenue near Carling Avenue.

A suspect filled a baby stroller with products and left without paying, police said. When store security approached, police said she “administered a noxious substance” on the security guard and a store employee.

Police say the suspect is a white woman, between 30 and 35 years old with an average build. She was wearing a brown scarf, red sweater and blue jeans and she had brown hair tied in a bun.
