One person is facing charges in connection to the investigation into a homicide in eastern Ontario this summer. Ontario Provincial Police say one person was located deceased at a residence on County Road 26 in Augusta Township on July 8. The death was deemed a homicide. Police say on Monday, Alison Doherty, 40, of the Township of Leeds and the Thousand Islands was charged with indignity to a dead body, contrary to section 182 of the Criminal Code. The accused is scheduled to appear in court in Brockville on Tuesday. “A publication ban has been issued and as a result, the OPP will not be able to provide further information,” the OPP said. The Grenville County OPP is leading the investigation in collaboration with the Office of the Chief Coroner and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service. The home is located near the town of Prescott, Ont.
