Motorcycle rider dies following crash north of Kingston, Ont.

Ontario Provincial Police say a man from the Ottawa area has died after his motorcycle crashed north of Kingston Friday.

Police say it happened at around 9 a.m. on a stretch of Highway 7 near Pleasant Hill Lane, between Sharbot Lake and Kaladar. No other vehicles were involved.

The 71-year-old man was transported to hospital but later died of his injuries. He has not been identified.

What caused the crash is unknown.

Highway 7 was closed for several hours between Arden Road and Mountain Grove Road for the collision investigation but has since reopened, OPP say.
