After another intense summer storm swept across Ottawa late Wednesday, Environment Canada says there is a risk we could see more unsettled weather on Thursday. Wednesday’s storm downed trees, cut power, and saw wind gusts of up 107 km/h, according to Environment Canada. A total of 21.9 millimetres of rain was recorded at the Ottawa airport. Thursday’s forecast calls for a mix of sun and cloud with a 40 per cent chance of showers in the afternoon and a risk of a thunderstorm. The afternoon high is 24 C, with a humidex of 29. A fog advisory was issued for Ottawa on Thursday morning, advising of heavy fog and low visibility in some areas. The advisory was ended at around 8:30 a.m. The evening will be partly cloudy with a 40 per cent chance of showers and a risk of a thunderstorm. The overnight low is 14 C. Friday’s forecast also calls for a few clouds and a 40 per cent chance of showers with the risk of a thunderstorm late in the afternoon. The high is 24 C with a humidex of 26. Saturday’s outlook is sunny with a high of 24 C. Sunday could see a few clouds with a high of 26 C. There is a 30 per cent chance of showers in the forecast for Monday.
