Ottawa police have arrested a 45-year-old man in connection with a series of break-ins at businesses in the Vanier and Overbrook area. Police say an investigation started on Feb. 1 focusing on 20 break and enter incidents that occurred over a four-month period. Some of the businesses were targeted more than once, police say. On Tuesday, police said a man was arrested on 61 criminal charges, including multiple counts of break and enter, mischief, possession of break-in instruments and breach of probation. The suspect was not identified. “The OPS continues to prioritize property crime enforcement and encourages business owners and residents to report suspicious activity,” police said in a news release. The man is scheduled to appear in court next week. Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
