A 57-year-old grandmother in Cornwall, Ont. is facing charges for allegedly assaulting a boy with household objects over a three-year period. The Cornwall Police Service says an officer launched an investigation in June into a complaint of a historic assault. “It is alleged from Jan. 1, 2022, to Dec. 31, 2024, the woman assaulted her grandson with multiple household objects,” police said in a media release. “It is further alleged she assaulted the youth causing bodily harm to him.” The woman was charged on Tuesday with five counts of assault with a weapon and two counts of assault causing bodily harm. She is scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 20.
