Gatineau police are investigating an armed assault in the city’s east end on Wednesday afternoon. Police say they were called to rue Broadway Est in the Lac-Beauchamp district at approximately 2:30 p.m. An injured victim was found at the scene and taken to hospital by Outaouais paramedics, police say. The extent of their injuries was not immediately available. One person is in custody. The public is being asked to avoid the area as an investigation continues. Rue Main is closed to traffic between rue de la Reine-Élisabeth Ouest and boulevard Maloney. Rue Broadway Ouest is closed between rue Elm and rue Main.
