Gatineau police are conducting a homicide investigation after a 45-year-old man died from his injuries in an armed assault last week. On June 17, police say officers were called to the area of rue Broadway Ouest near rue Main in the Lac-Beaucamp district at approximately 2:30 p.m. Police say the victim was found at the scene and taken to hospital by Outaouais paramedics. On Wednesday, Gatineau police said the man had succumbed to his injuries. The victim was identified as Jean Patenaude of Gatineau. Police say Kevin-Jordy Rotangar, 26, of Gatineau was arrested at the scene and charged with attempted murder and aggravated assault, among other charges. Investigators are currently working to with the Directeur des poursuites criminelles et pénales (DCDP) on the charges laid in the case. It’s Gatineau’s third homicide of the year.
