Driver whose licence was suspended by court order Monday morning caught on Hwy. 417 that afternoon

Ontario Provincial Police say a driver is facing a significant fine for allegedly driving while suspended on Highway 417, hours after receiving the suspension.

Police said on X that an automated licence plate reader (ALPR) notified officers of a suspended driver on the Queensway near Parkdale at around 5 p.m. Monday.

It turned out that the driver had received a court-ordered suspension that morning.

“The driver, who thought he could drive the car home, now faces a minimum $2,000 fine,” the OPP said.
