Driver operating pickup truck with 3 wheels stopped in Kingston, Ont.

A 21-year-old driver is facing charges after police noticed a pickup truck with only three wheels driving around Kingston, Ont.

Police say officers responded to four separate 911 calls on Wednesday evening about a pickup truck driving through the city.

An officer observed the pickup truck at Concession Street and MacDonnell at approximately 7:20 p.m.

“The officer attempted to stop the pickup truck, however, the truck made no attempt to stop and fled eastbound on Concession Street at a high rate of speed,” police said in a media release. “Officers observed sparks emanating from the rear passenger side of the pickup truck as it was operating on its rim.”

Police say the truck was located a short time later on Adelaide Street, and the driver was arrested.

The driver is facing charges of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, failing to stop for police and breach of probation.

The name of the driver was not released.
