A driver is facing impaired driving charges after their vehicle collided head-on with a snowplow on a road in Ottawa’s south end. The Ottawa Police Service says a vehicle travelling on the wrong side of Limebank Road struck a snowplow “at a high rate of speed” late Tuesday night. The crash occurred on Limebank Road near Earl Armstrong Road. The man driving the vehicle was transported to hospital in serious condition. “After being medically cleared with non-life-threatening injuries, the driver was arrested for impaired operation and found to have a blood alcohol concentration of 180 mg/100 ml — more than twice the legal limit,” police said on X. The driver of the snowplow was not hurt, according to the Ottawa Paramedic Service. Police say the driver was charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle. The driver’s vehicle was towed and the snowplow was able to drive away. “Impaired driving puts everyone at risk. Please plan a safe ride home,” police said.
