A few centimetres of snow on the way to Ottawa, but the cold isn’t that bad

Ottawa could see a few centimetres of snow today, but the temperature should remain around seasonal norms.

Environment Canada’s forecast for the capital calls for a chance of flurries in the morning followed by periods of snow starting around noon. Ottawa can expect 2 to 4 cm in the afternoon, with a high of -7 C and a wind chill of -14.

Another 2 to 4 cm of snow is forecast through the evening and overnight as the temperature rises to -3 C by morning.

Thursday’s forecast is cloudy with a few flurries and a temperature around -4 C during the day.

Colder temperatures are expected starting Friday, with the high being -15 C, about nine degrees colder than average. The overnight low heading into Saturday is forecast to reach -29 C.

The weekend is looking sunny and cold, with highs between -18 C and -15 C.
