Two pedestrians hospitalized after school bus crash in Bolton

King Street East in Bolton is closed between John Street and James Street following a crash involving a school bus and two pedestrians.

Ontario Provincial Police officers in Caledon were called to the scene just after 8 a.m. Thursday morning.

Peel Regional Paramedic Services say two females were injured in the incident. One was taken to a local hospital in stable condition, while the other was transported to a Toronto-area trauma centre with serious, possibly life-threatening injuries.

Police tell CTV News 12 children were on board at the time of the crash along with the bus driver. Paramedics say children were not assessed at the scene.

Morning commuters are being asked to avoid the area and use alternate routes as the investigation continues.

“The road will be closed for the foreseeable future while the OPP Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement Team assists with the investigation,” said Caledon OPP Const. Jesse Nobleman.

Police say passenger vehicles can bypass the John and James streets closure via Albert Street.
