10-15 mm of rain for Ottawa today, with snow expected tonight

Ottawa could see its first snow of the season tonight, as a wet day is in the forecast with up to 15 mm of rain followed by a chance of flurries tonight.

Environment Canada is calling for periods of rain beginning this morning. Ottawa could see 5 to 10 mm of rain today. High 6 C.

Periods of rain mixed with snow ending late this evening then cloudy with a chance of showers or flurries late this evening and overnight. Low 0 C.

Wednesday will see a mix of sun and cloud. There is a 30 per cent chance of flurries in the morning. High 4 C.

Thursday will be cloudy with a 70 per cent chance of rain or snow. High 6 C.

It will be mainly cloudy on Friday with a 70 per cent chance of rain or snow. High 6 C.

The outlook for Saturday calls for a mix of sun and cloud. High 3 C.

Sunday will be cloudy with a 40 per cent chance of showers or flurries. High 2 C.

The normal temperatures for this time of year are a high of 7 C and a low of 0 C.

First snowfall

Ottawa could see its first snowfall approximately three weeks earlier than last fall.

According to Environment Canada, a trace of snow was recorded at the Ottawa Airport for the first time on Nov. 27, 2024. The first recorded snowfall was Dec. 1, with 2.2 cm of snow.
