Timmins police looking for dashcam, security footage of serious assault early Sunday morning

Police in Timmins are hoping someone in the community has relevant dashcam or video surveillance footage of a serious assault that took place early Sunday morning.

“The Timmins Police Service responded to a report of a male who had sustained serious injuries caused by an edged weapon following a dispute at a residence located in South Porcupine,” police said in a news release Monday.

“The victim was transported to the Timmins and District Hospital for urgent medical treatment.”

Criminal investigators handling the case are looking for video footage taken Sunday morning in the areas of Golden Avenue, Bruce Avenue and Bloor Avenue between Main Street and Crawford Street.

In particular, they are seeking footage taken between 12:30 a.m. and 2:30 a.m. on April 27. Videos can be submitted through an online portal here.
