Youth charged in high school attack in the Sault

A 16-year-old in Sault Ste. Marie has been charged with assault causing bodily harm following an incident at a high school in the city.

The incident took place Sept. 12 and the youth was charged Oct. 7.

“An investigation revealed the accused youth had punched another youth multiple times, causing serious physical injuries,” police said in a news release.

“The victim was transported to hospital for treatment.”

The youth was released after being charged and will appear in court Dec. 9 in connection with the charges.
