The Timmins Police Service conducted a RIDE program on the evening of May 16, resulting in multiple driver’s licence suspensions and charges. Police said the Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere initiative saw officers check about 150 vehicles and as part of the enforcement, about 60 breathalyzer test demands were administered to drivers. RIDE results: Police reminder to motorists “The Timmins Police Service reminds motorists that impaired driving continues to pose a serious risk to public safety,” the service said in a news release. “Drivers are encouraged to plan ahead, arrange for a sober ride, and never operate a vehicle while impaired by alcohol or drugs.”
