Suspect charged with break-and-enter, harassment of former partner

A 37-year-old from St. Charles who was already on probation has been charged with breaking into their former partner’s residence and harassing them.

Ontario Provincial Police said the incident took place March 22 at 7:40 p.m., when the Nipissing West detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police responded to a report of a break and enter at a residence in St. Charles.

“An individual had entered the residence of their ex-partner, who was also on conditions not to attend the residence or to communicate with that person,” police said in a news release Tuesday.

Charges include three counts of violating probation, break and enter and criminal harassment (repeatedly follow, repeatedly communicate with, watch and beset, threatening conduct).

The accused was held for bail court and remanded back into custody. They are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on a future date in Sudbury.
