Northern efforts to reduce impaired driving are working

A 28-year-old Scarborough man is facing impaired driving charges following a complaint at a northern Ontario provincial park.

On May 18 at about 9 p.m., Ontario Provincial Police were dispatched to Grundy Lake Provincial Park.

“Park wardens were dealing with a suspected impaired driver,” said police in a news release.

As a result of the incident, OPP charged the southern Ontario motorist with two impaired driving offences – including having a blood alcohol concentration of more than 80. In addition to the charges, his licence was suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle involved was impounded for seven days.
