Police in Timmins have identified suspect in rampage that caused $2M in damage

Police in Timmins said Friday a young offender has been arrested in connection with a driving spree that caused $2M in damage earlier this week.

Police in Timmins said Friday they believe they have identified a young offender who is the prime suspect in a truck rampage earlier this week that involved four businesses and caused $2 million in damage.

The young offender is now being sought in connection with a 4 a.m. incident in which there was a series of intentional motor vehicle collisions along Riverside Drive and the surrounding area.

Police said the suspect drove a Ford F150, crashing into four businesses, including James Toyota, “resulting in significant property damage,” police said.

While police now know who they are looking for, the suspect’s name won’t be released under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

“The Timmins Police Service would like to thank members of the public for their cooperation and assistance during the investigation,” police said.
