Four people are facing charges in North Bay after a combination of police services swooped in on a Gorman Street residence May 27. Officers from the Ontario Provincial Police community street crime unit, Ontario Crime Enforcement Bureau, North Bay OPP and North Bay Police Service executed a search warrant on the residence and seized drugs and money. In all, drugs with a street value of roughly $30,000 were found in the residence, including suspected purple heroin, fentanyl, pills and more than $11,000 in Canadian currency. As a result of the warrant four people from North Bay were arrested and charged. A woman, 32, and a man, 35, are charged with: - Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking; - Possession of Schedule I Substance (Methamphetamine); - Two counts of possession of a Schedule I Substance - Opioid; and - Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000. A 30-year-old man is charged with: - Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking; - Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000; - Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of a Weapon. A 22-year-old woman is charged with: - Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking; - Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000. The accused were released on an undertaking and are scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in North Bay on July 28.
