Outdoor fire ban to be lifted in Timmins

An approaching cold front and a lot of rain in the last few days has led to more fire bans being dropped in communities across the region.

There’s some good news for residents in the Timmins area.

In a news release Wednesday, the city said that after six days, the outdoor ban will be lifted at 4 p.m.by the Timmins Fire Department.

The ban was declared June 4.

“With the current forecast, open-air burning can resume, however, a fire ban may be reinstated at any time if conditions change,” the city said.

The Timmins Fire Department said the fire hazard status will continue to be closely monitored.
