One person killed when two transports collide on Hwy. 11/17

Police say a fatal crash took place May 20 in northwestern Ontario involving two tractor-trailers.

Ontario Provincial Police responded around 8:30 p.m. to the site of the crash, on Highway 11/17, west of Shabaqua.

“One individual was pronounced deceased on scene,” the OPP said in a news release May 21.

“Two other individuals, a driver and passenger, were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.”

Anyone who witnessed the collision or has dashcam footage from the area at the time of the incident is asked to contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
