One man is dead after he pulled over to the side of an Edmonton freeway and was hit by another vehicle. Edmonton police say a 2007 Ford F550 was travelling southbound on Wayne Gretzky Drive early Thursday afternoon when the driver, a 41-year-old man, pulled over in the neutral space between the 106 Avenue off ramp and remaining lanes. He had walked to the back of his truck and was hit by a Ford F350 that was also travelling south on the freeway. He was pronounced dead on scene. The driver of the F350 stayed on scene. Police say speed and alcohol are not believed to be factors in the collision. The area of 106 Avenue and Wayne Gretzky Drive was closed for the better part of Thursday afternoon as emergency crews responded to the crash. Anyone with dash camera footage of the incident is asked to contact Edmonton police at 780-423-4567.
