A man from Papineau-Cameron Township faces numerous charges following a police pursuit involving a stolen all-terrain vehicle and the subsequent discovery of a stolen snowmobile, Ontario Provincial Police said Wednesday. The incident began July 20 at about 2 p.m., when OPP members attempted to stop an ATV on Richards Road in the township. “The driver failed to stop and continued driving before the ATV was located a short time later on Gravelle Road,” OPP said in a news release. Officers arrested the man at that location. “As a result of the investigation, police determined the ATV had been reported stolen from Quebec,” OPP said. While continuing their probe, police said officers also located a snowmobile that had been reported stolen earlier in 2026. Multiple charges laid The driver, a 35-year-old man, has been charged with flight from police, stunt driving, two counts of driving while under suspension, driving a motor vehicle without a plate, not having proper insurance, not having a muffler and two counts of possession of property obtained by crime. The accused was held for a bail hearing in North Bay.
