A 36-year-old man from Whitefish River First Nation faces drug trafficking charges after police executed a search warrant at a residence in the community. Members of the UCCM Anishnaabe Police Service, with assistance from its canine unit, carried out the warrant on June 24 as part of an ongoing drug trafficking investigation, police said in a new release. Cash, cocaine, more seized According to police, during the execution of the search warrant, officers seized approximately $14,000 worth of suspected cocaine, cash believed to be proceeds of crime, along with a cellular phone and multiple digital scales. As a result of the investigation, the man has been charged with drug trafficking and possession of property obtained by crime. The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
